Super Bowl Heads Back To Las Vegas

Congratulations to Steve Hill, CEO/President of the LVCVA and a member of the NFF Board of Trustees, on his role in securing an agreement with the NFL to bring the Super Bowl back to Las Vegas in 2029. Super Bowl LVIII was played in Las Vegas in 2024. Super Bowl LXIII joins the 2027 College Football Playoff National Championship among the major events slated for Allegiant Stadium in the coming years.

Six Decades Strong In Delaware Valley

The NFF Delaware Valley (NJ) Chapter hosted its 64th annual George Wah Scholar-Leader-Athlete Awards Dinner March 8 in Princeton, N.J. The chapter awarded more than $29,000 in scholarships to students from 19 area high schools while also recognizing local college and youth players. The chapter also honored leaders from the coaching and officiating ranks. The chapter’s Robert F. Casciola Distinguished American Award was presented to Kenneth M. Fisher Jr., owner/president of Nassau Communications, who served on the outpost’s board for more than two decades.

Jeff Siemon, a 2006 NFF College Football Hall of Fame inductee who starred as a linebacker at Stanford from 1969–1971, passed away March 28. He was 75.

A consensus First Team All-America pick in 1971, he was a two-time All-Pac-Eight selection in 1970 and 1971.

  • Eric Alexander, who played both offense and defense under Woody Hayes at Ohio State, has passed away. He was 69.

  • Warner Alford, a former player, coach and athletic director at Ole Miss, has passed away. He was 88.

  • Ed Blaine, who played collegiately at Missouri and became a Super Bowl champion with the Green Bay Packers, has passed away. He was 86.

  • Joey Browner, who played collegiately at USC and became an All-Pro with the Minnesota Vikings, has passed away. He was 65.

  • Melvin Foster, who played collegiately at Iowa, has passed away. He was 59.

  • John Jarrett, who played collegiately at North Dakota, has passed away. He was 86.

  • Larry Price, who coached at Hawaii and later broadcasted Hawaii games, has passed away. He was 91.

  • Barret Robbins, who played collegiately at TCU and in the NFL with the Oakland Raiders, has passed away. He was 52.

  • Stephen Sabbag, who played collegiately at UMass Amherst, has passed away. He was 78.

  • Sam Scarber, who played collegiately at New Mexico and in the NFL for the Dallas Cowboys before finding success as a Hollywood actor, has passed away. He was 76.

  • John Trant, who played collegiately at Pittsburgh, has passed away. He was 87.

  • Phil Wise, who played collegiately at Nebraska-Omaha and in the NFL for both the Jets and Vikings, has passed away. He was 76.
