Good morning, football fans! National Football Foundation President & CEO Steve Hatchell is welcoming the Division I conference coordinators for football officials to the NFF Headquarters today for the organization’s winter meeting!

The National Football Foundation (NFF) & College Hall of Fame would like to salute the College Football Playoff (CFP) and its staff, led by CFP Executive Director Rich Clark, for their exceptional efforts in staging the 11th CFP National Championship and the expansion of the platform from four to 12 teams!

The organization also congratulates the Atlanta Football Host Committee for their hospitality in organizing multiple first-class events during the 2025 title game.

The highlight of the Awards Dinner will be the induction of the 2025 College Football Hall of Fame Class, where 18 legendary players and four acclaimed coaches take their place amongst the greatest of all time. The inductees proudly represent every region of the country, 28 collegiate institutions, 11 conferences, and seven decades.

The NFF High School Showcases provide thousands of eligible high school football players an opportunity for academic and participation scholarships to play at the next level.

The 17th Annual Houston Texans Senior Showcase powered by Gatorade will take place at the Texans Methodist Training Center next door to NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas.

Feb. 14-15, 2025
The 9th Annual Orange Bowl Florida High School Football Showcase, Presented by Baptist Health, will take place at St. Thomas University in Miami Gardens, Florida.

Feb. 15, 2025
The Third Annual Arizona Senior Showcase will be held 15 at Ottawa University in Surprise, Arizona.

Feb. 22, 2025
The 12th Annual Terry Donahue Memorial California Showcase will take place at the Orange County Great Park in Irvine, California.

The CFP national championship game is headed to Las Vegas in 2027!

The game, which is scheduled to be played Jan. 25, 2027, will be played at Allegiant Stadium, home of the Las Vegas Raiders.

The Rose Bowl Operating Company (RBOC), in partnership with the Pasadena music festivals Cruel World, Just Like Heaven, and Head In The Clouds, will donate $250,000 to the Pasadena Community Foundation - Eaton Fire Relief and Recovery Fund, which supports the immediate and pressing needs of those impacted by the fire. The fire erupted in the San Gabriel Valley on January 7, 2025, and significantly impacted the Altadena and Pasadena areas and changed lives forever.

Pete Medhurst, the “Voice of Navy Athletics” who had been with the Navy Radio Network since 1997, has passed away after battling brain cancer. He was 55.

Johnny Boyette, a three-year letterman and first-team All-ACC tackle at Clemson in 1965 before being selected in both the AFL and NFL Drafts, has passed away. He was 81.

Calvin Jones, who rushed for more than 3,000 yards in three seasons for the Nebraska Cornhuskers before winning a Super Bowl with the Green Bay Packers in 1996, has passed away. He was 54.

Don McCall, a running back for the USC Trojans before spending the majority of four seasons in the NFL with the New Orleans Saints, has passed away. He was 80.

Ron Abdow, who played football at Brown and was honored twice by the NFF, first in 1991 as a Chapter Leadership Award recipient for his work with the NFF Western Massachusetts Chapter and again in 1997 with the NFF Outstanding Football Official Award for his work as a Division I official, passed away Jan. 22. He was 93.

ESPN has released the official trailer and key art for “The Buddy Way” – a feature-length documentary on the historic life and career of Coach Eugene F. “Buddy” Teevens III.

Teevens, who headed the football programs at Dartmouth, Stanford, Tulane, and Maine, was honored posthumously this past year as the 2024 recipient of the NFF Outstanding Contribution to Amateur Football Award. You can read that announcement HERE.

ESPN’s documentary on Teevens will premiere tomorrow at 5 p.m. ET on ESPN2 and will be available to stream on ESPN+ following its linear debut.
